RUMBLE IN DA JUNGLE
Rumble in da Jungle was created by Sin Collectief and directed by Junior Mthombeni. It was born in the Antwerp Box Academy, in a scene with a central boxing ring and a stage for an orchest. This singular performance drawed inspiration from the legendary 1974 Ali-Foreman boxing match and merged sports and arts, since it had a mix of live boxing with gripping slam poetry and jazzy African-influenced music. The show delved into themes of societal equality and discrimination, juxtaposing the raw physicality of boxing with the emotional punch of performance art.
