Theater Tol is an International Music Theater company founded in 1998 by Lot Seuntjens and based in Belgium. They craft multidisciplinary performances with minimal spoken words, relying on images, acting, and music. Shows seamlessly blend into unique locations, drawing inspiration from their surroundings. Theater Tol communicates through a unique, poetic language, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy.
The company thrives on a collective of artists, including costume designers, dramaturges, sound and lighting technicians, designers, composers, video editors, production managers, musicians, dancers, actors, and actresses. Theater Tol eschews traditional theater venues, preferring unusual locations like old factory sites, parks, market squares, beaches, or riverbanks. They perform outdoors in both summer and winter, often creating site-specific or collaborative works.
With performances all over the world, Theater Tol has left its mark globally. In September 2023, the leadership was passed to Talitha, Benjamien, and Lukas, who aim to infuse new life into the company by maintaining current productions and creating new works, leveraging their distinct yet complementary expertise.
